Before I answer this, I want all of my followers to please think before you post. If Shailene were to come and read your text posts and captions, would you still write them?
That being said, my thoughts on the subject are that a person’s value and the level of respect they receive should have absolutely nothing to do with how they dress. I have no idea whether or not she chose the outfit herself, and if she did, what her motives were, but it really shouldn’t matter AT ALL.
That flirty interviewer was being unprofessional by flirting with her interviewee, Shai’s clothing had absolutely nothing to do with it.
I don’t really know how to conclude this answer, other than reiterating that this is none of our business…
That’s about all I have to say on the subject.
Thank you for stopping by my blog!
(I meant to answer this awhile ago, but at first I couldn’t think about how to word my opinion, and then I was out of town, so here is my answer FINALLY.)
I don’t mean to be rude to this anon (or anyone else), but how is Shailene supposed to attend a convention - with a ball gown ? And is this some kind of a double standard - I can give you an example -
my husband Ian Somerhalder wore his favorite ISF shirt and a pair of jeans, Theo James wore basically the same shirt and jeans he wore last year , and nobody has a problem with that. I even find it cute, that Sheo dressed almost the same as last year (in black and white and all) - doesn’t matter - on purpose or not - I was reminiscing. And even though Shai herself said that she just now is getting into fashion and it’s not her priority, I think she’s making some great choices (HELLO, Divergent premieres?!?) and some serious fashion statements. Plus, she’s been on so many magazine covers lately (again, hello - Marie Claire , Teen Vogue?!). But it’s not true, that she’s starting to get fashion just now (since Divergent and TFIOS), she dressed pretty incredible during 2011’s Award Season, I think she was really passionate about it back then - it was her big break with “The Descendants” and she looked fierce. But she’s always said that in her spare time she likes to feel comfortable (don’t we all?) - wear sweaters, leggins and her toe shoes - and she’s stayed true to herself. And Comic Con is not the place to make a fashion statement - it’s a place where fans meet their favorites and they spent time with them, take pictures and give autographs. And Shai and Theo did all that.
